Vegetarian ramen

How many of the houses in our selection have a vegetarian or vegan option, city by city.

No pork, please

70% of our selection

Of the 153 houses in our selection across 17 cities, 107 have a vegetarian or vegan option mentioned in their reviews. In 86 of them it's a ramen; in the rest it's another dish, such as vegetable dumplings.

London, Sydney, Toronto and Vancouver are at 9 of 10 selected houses. Singapore is at 2 of 9 and Mexico City at 3 of 8. If you don't eat pork, a tonkotsu-heavy city doesn't rule you out: in London, where 90% of the houses we analyzed specialize in tonkotsu, 8 of the 10 selected houses have a vegetarian or vegan ramen.

Why our selection and not every house we read? Because it's the list you would actually choose from on One More Ramen, and every house in it was read in detail. The selection is built around the ramen itself, not around vegetarian options, so these shares are a side effect of choosing good houses, not a filter we applied.

One dot = one house in our selection. The first row adds up all 17 cities. Cities with fewer than 5 selected houses are marked small.

This is not a menu audit. A house counts when its reviews, as we read them with the help of AI, mention a vegetarian or vegan option. Menus change, and a house with nothing mentioned may still have one. Belo Horizonte has only 3 selected houses, so its share moves a lot with a single house.
